Cyberattacks cannot be completely prevented. This makes it all the more important for companies to prepare for emergencies and maintain their operational capability. This is precisely where cyber resilience comes in, as it goes beyond merely protecting IT systems to focus on the resilience of the entire organisation.

Alongside technological protective measures, clear responsibilities, well-prepared processes and the workforce play a central role. Therefore, cybersecurity is not solely the responsibility of IT, but should also be on the agenda of senior management.

Edgar Lehrmann sums up this shift in perspective, saying: 'I prefer to talk about cyber resilience rather than cybersecurity.'
