The Swiss Institute for Translational and Entrepreneurial Medicine (sitem-insel AG) is the driving force behind multidisciplinary collaboration and innovation, from the laboratory to the patient's bed and from the patient's bedside back to the laboratory. Since 2021, sitem-insel has been managing its own network. SPIE ICS was responsible for setting up the sitem-insel network and guarantees its professional operation through its managed services.
The solution provides sitem-insel with direct monitoring and prioritisation of its requests, network development according to requirements and its own management access via the services portal. This platform is the electronic point of contact for registered users, offering the possibility of entering or reporting requests or malfunctions on a self-service basis.
The new network is based on modern, future-oriented technologies from market leader Cisco Systems and is tailored to the needs of the sitem-insel. It offers multimedia compatibility (voice, collaboration & conference) as well as a WLAN network covering the entire site and modern security mechanisms such as access control or zoning for different areas. Administrative tools for monitoring, alerting and reporting support network management and thus increase availability.
