SPIE announces its recognition at the Swiss Cisco Partner Awards 2024, where its digital services entity was honoured with three prizes: Managed Services Partner of the Year, Public Sector Partner of the Year and Sustainability Partner of the Year. This is the first time Cisco has awarded the Sustainability Partner of the Year trophy, making SPIE ICS SA the first partner to be recognised for its leadership in sustainable practices.
Sustainability at the core of SPIE Strategy
Winning the Sustainability Partner of the Year award reflects the comprehensive approach of SPIE ICS to sustainability, which is deeply embedded in the business strategy of the Swiss digital services subsidiary. With a strong focus on promoting sustainable practices and reducing carbon emissions across all three scopes1, SPIE Switzerland is actively tackling today’s environmental challenges.
Reducing direct and indirect carbon emissions
SPIE Switzerland has taken significant steps to reduce its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by fully transitioning to renewable energy at all its facilities. By embracing green energy, SPIE Switzerland not only minimises its environmental footprint but also supports the global energy transition. Furthermore, SPIE Switzerland is stepping up its decarbonisation efforts by electrifying its vehicle fleet and replacing traditional vehicles with energy-efficient electric models. These initiatives have resulted in notable reductions in energy consumption and fuel use, helping SPIE move closer to its carbon footprint reduction target of 25% by 2025 compared to 2019 (scopes 1 and 2).
Collaboration and innovation to reduce emissions throughout the supply chain
SPIE Switzerland addresses Scope 3 emissions, which include broader environmental impacts throughout its value chain, by working closely with clients, partners, and suppliers to encourage sustainable practices. SPIE is working proactively to reduce its upstream indirect emissions by encouraging its direct suppliers to adopt virtuous practices and set ambitious carbon reduction targets.
In line with Group policy, SPIE Switzerland’s collaborative approach ensures that sustainability is embedded in every aspect of its operations and across its ecosystem.
Driving the future of sustainable IT
SPIE Switzerland is dedicated to leading the change in sustainability and translating commitment into meaningful action through its core business. SPIE Switzerland develops a portfolio of services that support the Group objective of 50%2 of its turnover substantially contributing to mitigating climate change by 2025. This includes offering energy-efficient IT solutions that help customers reduce their carbon footprints
“Our recognition as Sustainability Partner of the Year reflects our commitment to incorporating environmental responsibility into every facet of our operations. It’s not just about reducing our own emissions — it’s about helping our customers and partners achieve their sustainability goals with innovative solutions,” says Pierre Savoy, managing director of SPIE Switzerland. “As we continue to lead the way in managed services and public sector IT, we are equally dedicated to ensuring that our growth is aligned with our sustainability objectives.”
Recognized for excellence in managed services and public sector solutions
In addition to sustainability, SPIE ICS was also recognised for its expertise in managed services and public sector solutions. Winning the Swiss Managed Services Partner of the Year award highlights the ability of SPIE ICS to deliver scalable, innovative, and secured IT services that meet the evolving needs of businesses. Meanwhile, the Public Sector Partner of the Year award demonstrates SPIE’s commitment to supporting government and public sector clients with tailored solutions.
